Common questions about your stay with MINNeSTAY
What is the minimum age for guests?
The primary renter must be at least 25 years old. All other guests must also be 25 or older, unless they are part of the same family unit.
Do I need to sign a rental agreement or provide identification?
Yes. All guests booking a home through Minnestay are required to sign the Minnestay Rental Agreement, regardless of the platform used to make the reservation. In addition, guests must submit a photo of themselves holding a government-issued ID to verify identity. This step ensures a secure, contactless check-in process for every stay.
Are there additional requirements when booking a stay close to my arrival date?
Yes. Reservations made within 7 days of arrival require extra documentation to ensure security. Guests must provide photo documentation of the credit card used for payment (covering all but the last four digits of the card number) and complete a credit card authorization form. These steps help us verify payment and protect against fraud while ensuring a smooth check-in process.
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in is at 4:00 PM and check-out is at 11:00 AM. Extensions may be arranged with prior approval from the Minnestay reservations team.
What is the early check-in and late check-out policy?
These are allowed on a case by case basis. Owners are guests are expected to contact MINNeSTAY if they wish to arrive early or stay late.
Is there a policy on not allowing children?
No. Children of all ages are welcome in all of our homes.
How does parking work?
Most of our homes include off-street parking for a minimum of one vehicle, whether in a ramp, garage, or driveway. Please review each property description carefully to ensure the parking arrangements meet your needs.
Do you have 24/7 staff support?
Yes, our staff is available 24/7 to support our guests. For the fastest assistance, please call our main office line at 612-216-5511 during regular business hours, 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM Monday-Friday and 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Saturday-Sunday. After-hours emergency support is available at 612-441-2066 from 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM Monday-Friday and 6:00 PM to 9:00 AM Saturday-Sunday.
What is the maximum occupancy for the suites?
Occupancy depends on the size of the home. Please refer to the individual property listing for specific details.
What is the Pet Policy?
Select homes allow dogs – please contact our staff for a list of pet-friendly properties. A one-time pet fee applies when bringing your dog. Service Animals are welcome in all homes, regardless of individual property pet policies.
What is the cancellation policy?
Travelers who cancel at least 14 days before check-in will receive a refund of 100%, minus a 3% credit card fee. Cancellations made between 14 and 7 days before check-in will receive a 50% refund. No refunds are issued for cancellations within 7 days of arrival. If we are able to re-rent the property, guests will be reimbursed for the amount re-booked, less a 25% administrative fee. MINNeSTAY strongly recommends purchasing Travel Insurance at the time of booking to avoid potential travel complications.

Is the cleaning fee optional?
No. We take pride in ensuring every property is professionally cleaned before your arrival. Because we cannot guarantee our standards if a previous guest were to clean the unit themselves, our cleaning staff is required to meet strict protocols at every checkout. This ensures a consistent, high-quality experience for all guests and supports the well-being of our team.
When do I need to pay for my reservation?
Payment is typically required in full at the time of booking. However, when available, guests may choose to pay a 50% down payment at the time of booking, with the remaining balance due 30 days prior to arrival.
Do You Allow Early Check-ins?
Early check-ins may be approved within 24 hours of arrival, depending on whether our cleaning staff has sufficient time to prepare the home. If another guest is departing the same day your reservation begins, early check-in is not possible. Please call or email us 24 hours prior to arrival to confirm availability.
Do You Allow Late Check-outs?
Late check-outs may be approved on the day of departure, provided our cleaning staff has enough time to prepare the property for the next guest. If another reservation begins the same day your stay ends, late check-out is not permitted. Please call or email us 24 hours prior to departure to check availability.
How do I obtain access to the home?
Access to your home may vary depending on the property reserved. For Sable Properties: On your arrival day, you will receive a text with a code to retrieve your keys and parking pass from our KeyCafe system, located in the main entry of the building. To use KeyCafe, select “Pick Up a Key” on the screen of the rightmost cabinet, then enter your code when prompted. A box will open with your keys and parking pass – remove the keychain and close the door. Please note: The main front door of the Sable building is locked from 9:00 PM to 7:00 AM daily. During these hours, you will need an entry code, available in your MINNeSTAY Guest Portal. Your gray key FOB will also provide access through all exterior doors from the ramp. For Residential Homes: Door access details will be available directly in your MINNeSTAY Guest Portal. Door codes populate three days prior to your arrival and activate at 4pm on the day of arrival.
What Do I Need To Do Before Check-out?
Check-out is at 11:00 AM (Central Time). Our process is simple: (1) Load and start the dishwasher. (2) Place all used towels on the bathroom floor. (3) Ensure all doors are locked. (4) Move all trash and recycling to bins provided.
Return any physical keys to the lock box. For guests at Sable, please move your car out of the parking ramp before returning your keys and parking pass to KeyCafe. Unauthorized late check-outs will incur an hourly fee.
What if I'm not arriving until after 4pm?
That’s no problem! While your unit will not be ready until 4:00 PM, our self-service check-in system allows you to arrive and check in at any time that works best for you after 4:00 PM.
What if my door code does not work?

Can I Bring my Pet?
Select properties are pet-friendly and allow dogs only. Please contact our Reservations Team at 612-216-5511 before bringing your dog, as size and breed restrictions may apply. A one-time pet fee is required for all approved dogs.
Can I Rent This For My Children And Their Friends?
All guests staying in the home must be 25 years of age or older, unless part of a family unit. The reservation name and contact information must be of an individual that is 25 years or older. If no guest staying at the property meets the age requirement, the party may be removed without refund.

Is Smoking And/or Vaping Allowed In Or Around Your Properties?
Absolutely not. Smoking and vaping of any kind is prohibited on the rented premises, including roofs & outdoor common areas, and heavy fines will apply according to the rental contract.
